Aidan joined Brigshaw Learning in 2021 from One Degree Academy, where he served as founding Principal, and Aim Academies Trust where he worked as an executive leader across different trust schools.

Nick joined Brigshaw Learning Partnership in 2022, bringing with him a range of leadership experience across a number of schools and Multi Academy Trusts. Nick has a focus on school improvement and wider school development.

Elizabeth Wood

Director of SEND

Liz joined Brigshaw in 2005 after working as an analytical chemist in the pharmaceutical industry. She has worked closely with the school's inclusion department since 2007 and gained her National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) in 2012. Liz leads on Inclusion across the Brigshaw Learning Partnership and is primarily based at Brigshaw, where she oversees Special Educational Needs and serves as the designated teacher for Children Looked After (CLA). A University of York graduate with a Master of Chemistry degree, Liz became a teacher out of a passion for Inclusion and a belief that every child deserves an inclusive education.

Joshua Asquith

Director of Primary Curriculum

Joshua joined the Trust in 2022, bringing with him experience as a senior leader in a successful Multi-Academy Trust and as a Deputy Headteacher in a Local Authority school. He is passionate about English, humanities, languages, and arts education, and is particularly interested in supporting the academic transition between primary and secondary education.

Recently retired partner at EY global Tax service and previously a partner at KPMG, Stuart has worked in industry and professional services, principally, in international tax and finance roles. Stuart's roles have been in the UK and abroad. Stuart has expertise in law, operational transformation, risk management, process improvement and finance. Stuart is also a Trustee at Liberty Academy Trust which has three schools for autistic children. He additionally serves on the Finance and Resource and Remuneration committees at that Trust

Dave Noble

Chair of the Finance, Audit, Risk and Resource Committee

Dave offers Brigshaw a wealth of experience having previously worked with schools and Multi Academy Trusts in Leeds. He was instrumental in the development of the Temple Newsam Learning Partnership and opening the Temple Learning Academy. Prior to his education experience, Dave worked in the private sector for 23 years in various HR, operations and customer support senior management roles.

Jane is Director of School Partnerships at The Brilliant Club, which is a charity that supports disadvantaged pupils to get into university and to succeed in higher education. Before that, Jane was a teacher and senior leader in schools in Leeds and Bradford. She has significant knowledge and experience of the education sector, particularly regarding disadvantaged pupils' attainment and school and trust improvement.

Jean has over 25 years’ experience in both primary and secondary education. She is a former Headteacher, director of school improvement, HMI and inspector. Currently, Jean is an improvement partner for Learn Sheffield and Director at ‘Synergy Education Services’ providing school improvement support to academies and schools. Jean brings a strong and clear understanding about rigour, accountability, quality assurance and strategic leadership to ensure maximum outcomes are achieved. She is extremely passionate about every child receiving an excellent education to fulfil their potential.

Tim is Head of Networks at Teach First, a charity with the mission to make education fair for all. Before this, Tim was a teacher trainer working with trainees in schools across Yorkshire. Tim is an experienced primary school teacher and leader with a wealth of experience in curriculum development, assessment for learning, transition from KS2 to KS3, and school improvement. He is experienced in governance and currently holds a Vice Chair position for a primary school in Kirklees.

Kirsty Malloch

Kirsty is an ex pupil of BLP schools; Methley Primary School and Brigshaw High School. Whilst at school, in addition to her studies, Kirsty embraced every opportunity, taking on the role of student ambassador for our huge international Olympic legacy project. One of her first tasks was to persuade all of our partner primary schools to get involved in hosting over 200 international students from ten countries. After leaving school, Kirsty graduated in Law with first class honours, received the prestigious Neuberger prize, was awarded the Denning Scholarship from Lincoln’s Inn, completed Bar Professional training and qualified as a barrister.

Martin Dove

Martin Dove has given invaluable service to the Brigshaw Learning Partnership. He was previously Chair of Governors at Brigshaw High School for over 15 years and was instrumental in the development of the Brigshaw Trust. Martin has extensive experience in education, including three headships and decades of experience in school governance.

Peter Laurence

Peter Laurence’s association with the Brigshaw community goes back to 1997 when he became Headteacher of Brigshaw High school. Peter was instrumental in the establishment and design of the successful partnership which evolved from a soft federation to a co-operative trust and, in 2016, to a Multi-Academy Trust. Peter led Brigshaw High School until 2008. He subsequently focused on the trust as Development Director. Peter retired from this role in 2018 but continues to support the BLP, becoming a Member in September 2020, amongst other voluntary governance roles across Leeds and West Yorkshire.

Vice Chair of the Board; Standards & Curriculum Committee

Ann-Marie is Vice Principal at Leeds City College, which is the third largest FE college in the country, and has been a senior leader and manager for over 20 years. She has significant knowledge and experience of the education sector. Ann-Marie has managed large budgets and has experience of managing a college merger, successfully bringing together separate organisations with different cultures and ethos.

Local School Committees (LSCs)

Each Trust school has a Local School Committee (LSC)  who provide support and challenge to our schools at a local level with a focus on:

● Stakeholders - Working in partnership with the Trust and school leadership to ensure an active, high quality effective programme of stakeholders and community engagement is delivered

● Standards -Supporting and challenging leaders raise standards of quality of education in schools and to seek assurance for the trustees that the head is listened to, supported and challenged

● Students - Ensuring that pupils are listened to, feel safe in school and are successful learners.
