How we work - our vision for the future
We are committed to improving outcomes and raising aspirations for children and young people in the communities we serve: the former coal-field areas in south-east Leeds and neighbouring parts of North Yorkshire and Wakefield local authorities. Building on our success as a co-operative trust since 2010, our key challenges as a multi-academy trust are to continue and accelerate: improving our learners' outcomes by developing more consistency of high quality teaching and learning; developing effective approaches to recruitment, retention and professional development of our staff and school leaders; and improving transition between primary and secondary phases of education.
Our Vision and Mission Statement
Children and young people
• We want you to enjoy your education, and will help support and challenge you to achieve your full potential. We want you to become creative, resilient, independent and life-long learners.
Parents and carers
You know your children best: we want to work closely with you in helping them to achieve beyond their and your expectations, on a basis of mutual trust and a shared commitment to their well-being.
We will share resources and expertise to support each other in helping our pupils and students, and our staff, to work, learn and grow together.
We want to work with others who share our passion for learning - and our co-operative ethical values – honesty, openness, social responsibility and caring for others.
The communities we serve
As a well-governed, fully accountable public body, we want to be a beacon of aspiration in helping our pupils and students to make a positive and dynamic contribution to the life of our communities and our country.
